★ Why do we charge? Puget Sound DockDogs is picking up most of the tab for this event. We like to celebrate and this gives us all a chance to enjoy the camaraderie of PSDD without the rain pants and wet dogs. A $10 fee, helps us to plan the banquet and assure that when you RSVP, you’re planning on coming.

- ABOUT THE MEETING -
During our short annual general meeting, board members will update the club about upcoming events and activities, the financial status of our club. In addition, members will be asked to approve new bylaws for the club, as well as this season’s board of directors. This year, members will be voting on the following positions:

• Vice President (CLICK HERE to view all candidates)
• Secretary
• 5 board member positions

Members must be current with their membership dues in order to vote.

★ Don’t forget to sign up for the free membership drawing before the meeting. Who knows, your dues for the 2012 season might be on us!

- ABOUT THE AWARDS -
Members will have the opportunity to nominate their fellow club members in many categories (Most improved, best dressed pup, best cheerleader, most exciting team, best sportsmanship, just to name a few). You should consider nominees from the 2010/2011 season (Sportsmen’s Show in January 2011 until the Issaquah Salmon Days event held October 2011).

- TOY SWAP GAME -
In order to participate, each member should bring one WRAPPED TOY (should be suitable/safe for big dogs) to the party. This was fun last year. So we’re going to have another toy swap. But this year....there’s going to be an added twist of game playing and thievery involved!

- WHAT ELSE DO WE DO? -
Aside from the short meeting and awards presentation, we’ll have a slideshow of pictures of the past season, and a video to commemorate the year. If you have pictures and videos you can share with us for the banquet, please send them to Kristi.dockdogs@gmail.com

Washington Sportsmen’s Show (WSS)

Puget Sound DockDogs and the Washington Sportsmen’s Show, along with Natural Balance Pet Food, are excited to offer an opportunity to be part of a fun mid-winter event!

PSDD events are open to anyone with with a dog and a floatable toy. There are awards, based on divisions, for dogs that jump from an inch to 25-feet and beyond.

Our events are always open to beginning and experienced dogs alike. There will be plenty of open dock time for you to practice during the day time hours of the show. But if you’d like so some practice of your own ahead of time, check out these links:

**Good news!!! The new DockDogs online registration system is now up and running! This means you can now pre-register for our event online. by clicking the link above.  If you have NEVER registered online for a DockDogs event (whether national or club), you will need to register as a "new handler".  If you have ever registered for any type of DockDogs (national or club) online, you should have been sent an email recently with a new handler ID and temporary password. In this case, some of your previous information should be already stored!

PSDD Wednesday Night Practice

PUYALLUP LOCATION!

Thinking of coming out for the first time? Yes! Absolutely! But don’t forget to bring your dog with you. Dogs should already know how to swim and generally enjoy splashing and being in the water.

The PSDD practice dock will be open for scheduled practices throughout the summer in order to give members access to a regulation pool and dock setup between a full season of events!

This open dock time is not a class, but provides the opportunity for teams (from first timers to advanced jumpers) to practice and improve their own jumping skills.

Volunteers are always on hand to assist first timers, and beginning dogs learn to take their first jumps off the dock.

NOTE: There will be a daily practice fee for the use of this location. fees go toward purchasing pool chemicals and maintenance costs of having our pool at this location.

Please understand that we are guests at the home of the Perry’s. Our ability to continue to offer practices at this location will be entirely based upon the good behavior of ALL participants. Please respect the property and equipment, the family, the animals, and the NEIGHBORS!

★ Dogs must be on leash at all times
★ Keep dogs well away from the horses
★ Keep dogs away from neighbor’s fence
★ Do not disturb tenants in the rental home
★ Please use restroom before coming to practice
★ Pick up your dog’s poop
★ We understand that some dogs bark when they are excited, but please keep barking to a minimum (The use of bark collars is permitted)

This is a zero tolerance policy. PSDD and the Perry family reserve the right to ask any participant to leave if they deem behavior detrimental to their animals, individuals, or property. We thank you for your consideration.

Wednesday night workouts are a great way for those who have a difficult time making weekend practices or are craving some additional dock time to get their dogs flying high.

Whether you want to work with your dog on their confidence and jumping form, or you just need to help burn off your dog’s long winter energy stores...we’ve got just the thing! How about a Puget Sound DockDogs practice!

Don’t forget to thank your board members, volunteers, and the Perry Family for making this possible! Be sure to check this website ahead of time for any changes in practice dates and times (holidays, conflicting events, etc).

*Don’t forget to take your dog potty frequently (about every 15 minutes) during pool play.

GENERAL EVENT RULES
Only one dog off leash at a time, unless actively involved in a multiple dog activity (under the direction of a board member)

Puppies under 6 months of age may attend the event, but should not be actively involved in guided jumping.

Handlers may enter the the practice pool in order to assist in coaxing their dogs.

You may not push, shove, or toss your dog into the pool. Handlers doing so will be asked to leave. This is a PSDD zero tolerance policy.

In order to keep practices organized, teams may be divided and rotated through pool and dock time. We appreciate your cooperation.

A spooky good time with PSDD!

Looking for an excuse to dress up the dogs (and yourselves too!) and head somewhere fun? Join us for the first ever Howwwl-O-Ween party with the PSDD gang Eatonville.

We'll have a four-legged costume contest and a spot set up to get some hilarious halloween photos with your decked-out doggies. There will be plenty of other games and fun throughout the day, including agility equipment in the horse arena for all to enjoy (Courtesty of R.E.L. Agility Equipment)

We'll start the day with a quick quarterly club meeting (members please plan on coming to vote on some important measures that pertain to your club).

Bring your favorite “finger food” dish to share. PSDD will provide drinks. Bring along the dogs, your family, and a potluck item to share. Time to brainstorm for fun dog costumes! Handlers are also welcome to dress up too!
