2010 Season

Puget Sound DockDogs is embarking on a year full of competition, training sessions for dogs of all levels, new training locations, and the celebration of our 5th anniversary as a DockDogs Affiliate Club.

It’s looking like a season chock full of practices, club competitions, national competitions, and other fun activities for PSDD members!  Join the party and come celebrate 5 years of jumping dogs!

We’ve just received some BIG news!

The 2010 STIHL Dogs & Logs World Championships  (seen on the Outdoor Channel) will be held at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem, OR from September 2-5.

After many years, Dock Dogs and Lumberjack Sports International have decided to try out a new location and Oregon seemed like a great place. This huge annual event will run right on the heels of the STIHL Timbersport Series which will be held a week prior at the same location. This will also be the first time that the event will be held on the West Coast, bringing the excitement and action to Pacific Northwest fans. This 4 day event will feature the worlds most talented dogs in four events as well as the top 10 IRONJACKS in the world going head to head in chopping, speed climbing, boom running, sawing and relay races.

The Outdoor Channel will once again be capturing all the action and the 10 part series will be televised in the Fall for all fans to enjoy.

Chase Away K9 Cancer

Puget Sound DockDogs would like to encourage you to donate to the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Foundation's Chase Away K9 Cancer Project.  Puget Sound DockDogs member, Cera, lost a wonderful companion and competitor "Chase" summer of 2006 to nasal carcinoma.   This loss has propelled Cera to do as much as she can to help battle this devastating disease and to support animal health studies that may one day lead to a cure for canine cancer and other life-threatening diseases. From selling hats, organizing local fundraising events, to getting the word out to breed clubs and the Dock jumping world, Cera has already raised thousands of dollars for the ACVIM Foundation’s animal health studies grant program.  You too can join the fight to Chase Away K9 Cancer and help provide longer and healthier lives for all animals with a donation to the ACVIM grant program or by participating in the Chase Away K9 Cancer Speeding Ticket program at PSDD and national DockDogs events or by donating to dogs at events wearing yellow Chase Away K9 Cancer vests.

What’s going on for PSDD in 2010?

Don’t miss the chance to draw crowds to your festival or event by bringing in the excitement of live action competition.  These amazing doggy teams pack the house, dazzling crowds with their high-flying athleticism and energy.  Competitors invited from the local region and across the nation to put on a show like no other.  Dogs compete in the Big Air (long jump), Extreme Vertical (high jump), and the speed retrieve (fastest dog to the end of the pool wins the race!

Puget Sound DockDogs have been seen in local media coverage and several of our regular competitors have been featured across the country on ESPN, The Outdoor Channel, as well as television and print media coverage.

Have pool, will travel.  PSDD can provide their own equipment for events if needed, and does require at least 2 days for a competition.  Hurry to book your event for the 2010 season!  Contact Puget Sound DockDogs by email for details and pricing information:  kristi.dockdogs@gmail.com or by snail mail:
